Terrence Mitchell „Terry“ Riley (geboren am 24. Juni 1935) ist ein amerikanischer Komponist und Musiker, der als Pionier der minimalistischen Kompositionsschule bekannt ist. Beeinflusst von Jazz und klassischer indischer Musik, zeichnet sich sein Werk durch den innovativen Einsatz von Wiederholungen, Tonbandtechniken, Improvisationen und Verz\u00f6gerungssystemen aus. Seine bekanntesten Werke sind die Komposition In C aus dem Jahr 1964 und das Album A Rainbow in Curved Air aus dem Jahr 1969, die beide als Meilensteine des Minimalismus gelten und wichtige Einfl\u00fcsse auf die experimentelle Musik, den Rock und die zeitgen\u00f6ssische elektronische Musik haben.<\/p>\n

Gyan Riley (geboren 1977) ist ein amerikanischer Gitarrist und Komponist. Er ist der Sohn des minimalistischen Komponisten Terry Riley. Zwischen 2016 und 2020 tourten sie h\u00e4ufig als Duo zusammen. Er ist mit Bill Frisell, Julian Lage, Zakir Hussain, Dawn Upshaw, Nels Cline u.a. aufgetreten, und tourt derzeit h\u00e4ufig mit der mit einem Grammy ausgezeichneten S\u00e4ngerin Arooj Aftab. K\u00fcrzlich war er als Interpret und Komponist f\u00fcr zwei gefeierte PBS-Dokumentarserien von Ken Burns und Lynn Novick zu sehen.<\/p>\n

Die Neue Kurkapelle Baden ist ein qualitativ hochstehendes Musikensemble in wechselnder Besetzung, welches sich in Kooperation mit lokalen Partnern nachhaltig mit dem musikalischen Kulturerbe des Kurorts Baden auseinandersetzt. In Anlehnung an das traditionsreiche ehemalige Badener Kurorchester kn\u00fcpft die Neue Kurkapelle Baden an jener Bl\u00fctezeit an und \u00fcbertr\u00e4gt sie ins 21. Jahrhundert.<\/span><\/p>\n

F\u00fcr das Programm Meehr Baden werden Terry und Gyan Riley ein neues Werk komponieren, im Austausch mit Jonas Ehrler der Neuen Kurkapelle Baden und begr\u00fcndend auf der Recherche zur B\u00e4derkultur mit Fokus auf die Frage: Was ist die Kurmusik von heute?<\/span><\/p>\n
